Keep it Kaimuki Small Business Relief Fund

As the COVID-19 pandemic intensifies, the threat is increasingly existential for many small businesses in Kaimuki. We are facing prospects of collapsing revenues, tough decisions surrounding laying off employees, and struggling to keep our doors open. Most of us do not have the financial stability needed to survive, and without help, we will be forced to close our doors. However, we are resilient, and our community will persevere.

The Keep it Kaimuki Small Business Relief Fund was established by a group of Kaimuki small business owners, to serve as a vehicle to provide mutual support among our businesses and customers. Donations to the fund will be distributed to those most in need—the businesses that are in danger of shutting doors for good because of the pandemic. Please consider donating to the Fund to show your support for the Keep it Kaimuki community.

As we all work to adapt to these changing circumstances, some of us will fare better than others. Our Kaimuki businesses are interdependent. Food service establishments in particular are subject to mandatory closure orders, but these closures have a ripple effect throughout our community.

Sales are down, foot traffic is down, and some of us have been forced to shut down because of these circumstances even though not mandated to do so by the government. Unlike multi-national corporations, we cannot depend on government bailouts. Instead, as we always have, we depend on support from YOU—our loyal customers.
